Catch the latest blockbusters at Golden Screen Cinemas with “Friday 1 for 1” using Visa payWave

03/25/2014

Visa payWave cardholders can now catch the latest movies with their friends and loved ones with the “Friday 1 for 1” promotion at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC).

The promotion is valid at all GSC cinemas nationwide and is part of Visa’s on-going push to promote its contactless payment innovation. Offering a faster, secure and hassle-free payment option, Visa payWave is set to revolutionise the local payments landscape for both retailers and consumers.

Stuart Tomlinson, Visa Country Manager for Malaysia said, “At Visa, we recognise that Malaysian consumers are among the most tech-savvy people in the region, and are early adopters of the latest technological innovations. With this in mind, Visa feels that this is the right time to promote contactless payment technology in line with the Malaysian government’s e-payment vision, by introducing more places to use Visa payWave, at grocery stores, hypermarkets, quick service restaurants, cinemas, Express Rail Link and more.”

Cardholders using their Visa payWave cards can make purchases by simply waving their Visa payWave enabled card in-front of a Visa payWave reader - there’s no need to sign or use a PIN. During transactions, Visa payWave cards don’t leave the cardholders’ hands, reducing the risk of fraud. On average, Visa payWave transactions can be up to three times faster than cash payments, reducing queuing times for both cardholders and retailers.

Apart from the Visa-GSC “Friday 1 for 1” promotion, Visa payWave cardholders will receive a free eco bag when they spend RM50 and above with their Visa payWave cards at Sogo Department Store in Kuala Lumpur.

Visa payWave is Visa’s contactless payment technology and can be found on Visa cards bearing the Visa payWave symbol.  It enables Visa cardholders to make faster payments in a convenient and secure manner. Visa payWave cards have an embedded antenna and microchip, enabling "contactless" communication with a reader at the checkout. From there, the transaction is processed through the same secure Visa network used for all Visa transactions.

Promotion ends 14 June 2014. Terms and conditions apply.
