Visa Easy Payment Service (VEPS) limits

VEPS applies in different countries, based on the country’s local currency. To find out what the VEPS limit is in your country, please contact your Visa representative.

Dispute protection

Visa’s chip card technology helps protect in-store payments against counterfeit cards by generating a unique, one-time code before the transaction can be approved.

Beginning 1 October 2015, liability for in-store counterfeit fraud has shifted to the party – either the issuing financial institution or the merchant – that has not adopted chip technology.
